I love working for Down East Magazine because it allows me to see some really interesting places all over the state. Located in a tiny village in central Maine, the Bartlett Yarns mill has been operating since 1821. They use the last running spinning mule in the US. During my visit I was able to see and photograph the process of making yarn on these incredible vintage machines. Check out my favorite photos from the day!
