Climbing Mount Rainier

In July I did what I do best- I booked a last minute trip with little time to prepare.  I was lucky to snag a spot on Northeast Mountaineering's climb of Mount Rainier, which stands at 14,410ft in Washington.  Shortly after stepping off the plane in Seattle I got my first glimpse of Rainier, towering over everything in sight.  The next four days were a whirlwind.  After a training day on Sunday, which included crampon technique, self arrest and rope travel, we began our journey to the top.  It was a slow, challenging but beautiful climb and one of the most stunning sunrises I've ever witnessed.  This mountain pushed my limits both mentally and physically.  Words and photos cannot express how life changing this climb is... you just have to do it yourself! Thanks Northeast Mountaineering for another amazing adventure and to the crew who made this trip one I'll never forget.
