Midcoast Maine Summer Adventure

I had the pleasure of capturing Maine's beauty on a 24-hour trip to Camden, Belfast and Searsport!  I documented the Provencher family as they explored all that Maine's Midcoast had to offer!  Follow along below as I recap our trip!

The moment I arrived in downtown Belfast, I was charmed by the bright colors, adorable shops and beautiful scenery.  I've lived in Maine my entire life but never spent a ton of time in this area.

I met up with the Provenchers to check out the local shops downtown.  Our first stop was All About Games, which was the perfect spot to start our journey for Matteo. He loved looking at the puzzles, books and games! They've been in business since 1996 and sell only non-electric games!  I saw a ton of games I used to play as a kid!

Next we went to the Green Store.  This store is filled with beautifully crafted gifts, toys and household items.  They pride themselves in providing environmentally sustainable items with a nod to the village general stores of the past.

By now we were hungry for a sweet treat!  We stopped at Dave's Old Fashioned Soda Fountain for some ice cream.  This place was awesome- besides ice cream, it had every kind of candy I could imagine!

We walked around downtown and saw the iconic Colonial Theatre, window shopped and then headed across the bridge to Young's Lobster Pound for lunch!

Young's is a picnic style lobster pound right on the water. Matteo had a blast looking at the lobsters and playing around on the dock!

After lunch we set up camp at Searsport Shores Campground.  This place has it all- a playground, ocean front sites, wooded sites, RV sites, dog friendly, a beach, kayaks for rent and hot showers!  This is a very family friendly campground.

After settling in at camp we went to the Wentworth Event Center for sunset cocktails and live music!  We played corn-hole, danced and walked around the ocean front property.

After a long day of fun activities, we went back to camp to catch the sunset. And of course... have s'mores!

A good night's sleep was had by all as we packed up camp the next morning. Before leaving, we took a walk on the beach to see the sunrise.  This was one of the most stunning spots I've been to catch the morning sun.

We headed back into Belfast and took a walk along Belfast Harbor.

Time for coffee!  Chase's Daily was the perfect spot to grab a quick snack before breakfast and a coffee.  This family owned business is restaurant, bakery, and farm. They also feature seasonal produce, farm-to-table meals, from-scratch baking, cut flowers, and floral design services.

Off to Traci's Diner for breakfast!

We said goodbye to Belfast and headed south to Camden, Maine to explore!

My favorite stop in Camden was the Owl and Turtle Bookshop Cafe. This place has an incredible selection of books and a delicious cafe.  Coffee beans are locally roasted by Coffee on the Porch!

Our last adventure of the trip was a lobster boat ride from Camden Harbor Cruises.  This was such an incredible experience, even in the rain!  The crew taught us about pulling up traps, measuring lobsters and baiting the traps.  The kids on board were so excited to help out and touch live lobsters!

Thanks for following our journey!  I hope you get a chance to travel to Belfast, Camden and all of the other Midcoast Maine spots!
